Open backpacking trails near Seattle

My boyfriend and I are looking for a moderate backpacking trail to hike and camp that is open right now, not too far outside Seattle  - and that allows campfires (if at all possible).

Suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Open backpacking trails near Seattle

@Maceebaker711 great question! One of the best resources we have in the PNW is the Washington Trail Association (wta.org) - they have done an excellent job of marking which trails are open, which are closed, and anything in between (ex: "dispersed camping is allowed but WTA encourages day-use only during the Stay Home order").

In addition providing great details and up-to-date trail reports, the WTA has curated lists of suggested destinations: here's one for weekend backpacking trips and another on overnight backpacking destinations. You can also call the ranger at our Seattle Flagship store (206-223-1944) to discuss options and gather their suggestions!

Hope this gives you a place to start!
