With more people hitting the trails and wild places, I think REI should promote some measure of outdoor ethics. Is this a good place to discuss this?
What are the most important things new trail users (and experienced ones) should know about etiquette?
“But I reckon I got to light out for the Territory ahead of the rest, because Aunt Sally she's going to adopt me and sivilize me, and I can't stand it. I been there before.”― Mark Twain, The Adventures of Huck Finn
@TomIrvine Outdoor ethics are definitely important! It is great to encourage all to get outside, but our goal is to minimize our impact on these outdoor places. For new trail users, the seven principles of Leave No Trace are a great place to start...and always something more experienced folks can review. Lnt.org is a wonderful resource on this topic.
At REI, we believe a life outdoors is a life well-lived.
