I have a the subject tent above; the Fly "door open" straps and several other "fly to pole" velcrow straps have come unglued and don't appear to be attached right (it looks like they should have been sewed). Can these be corrected /repaired or do I just return the entire tent?
Howdy Bruce @BRField! Thanks for your question. We'd love to take a look at your tent in-person to get you a proper evaluation. I've seen some pretty dramatic "isues" be repaired over the years but it could also be a quality evaluation based on how old (or new) the tent is. Hopefully an REI store is close to you so we can give you a better response to your questions. Happy trails to ya!
I am also having these issues with my Quarter Dome T3 Plus. Several door retaining loops and pegs were glued on and are coming off - probably should have been sewn. Since I don't have an REI store near me and I see this as a relatively minor job, I'm prepared to glue them on myself. Can you advise me on which adhesive is best for this tent?
@beersteiner Thanks for reaching out!
I would recommend Gear Aid Seam Grip Seam Sealer and Adhesive for this application. Be sure to follow the recommended application instructions to get the best performance out of the adhesive. You may need to use rubbing alcohol to remove any remnants of the previous adhesive.
I hope this helps, thanks!
