Hi there @mori!
Thanks for sending well wishes to the REI family! We are definitely eager to get back outside with our customers and members!
We look forward to continuing to roll out services that make getting gear and recreating that much easier, with the safety of our customers and employees in mind.
Thank you for being a member for so many years! You’ll notice I did remove your actual member number from your post, in an effort to protect your privacy!
Just wondering if the Indianapolis location might be offering curbside service at some point during the anniversary sale. I am ordering a bike and would love to get it from the store (or shipped to the store) instead of paying the $75 shipping fee. You might not be able to share specific info on what day it might open, but the sale goes on for another 9 days to just trying to see if it will open during that time. Thanks!
Hey there @jbarnes!
Thanks for reaching out to us here! Unfortunately, we do not have any specifics that we can share right now. We are making plans to add more stores to curbside pickup throughout next week.
With that being said, as you can imagine things can change quickly in the current environment. This is the reason why we do not want to share any information prematurely that might lead to additional frustration for our customers and members.
We really appreciate your understanding at this time and hope you’ll keep an eye on your local store page for updates!
New Jersey is allowing retail stores to open for curbside pickup starting Monday, May 18. Will the NJ stores be offering this service?
Are you considering setting up outdoor areas to allow more people to shop (that is if you are limited by # of people per 100 ft2, you can have more people shop if you setup awnings and other coverings that might be setup around a picnic table. This would be something REI might do at an outdoor event like a craft show, etc. This would be really useful for people who really have to shop for some things (in my case hiking shoes) that really does not work shopping on line (despite what Zappos says) . You might also help sell the outdoor equipment itself 🙂
@SteveJNJ Thanks for the post!
We appreciate your input and feedback as we take a measured approach to reopening our stores for business. With a growing number of cities and states opening for limited outdoor activity, we will be there to help our community prepare for a return to the outdoors. We understand the need to try on product in person, however, until that option is fully available to you, we recommend a virtual outfitting appointment. It can help you narrow down your choices, talk through fit with an expert, and come to the most educated buying decision you can. Of course, we have our 100% satisfaction guarantee you can rely on if the fit is not quite right.
Hope this helps and we can all, safely, get back out on the trails soon!
