What adventures are on your outdoor bucket list?

Just curious what folks have on their hiking/biking bucket list..

For me:

@hikebikefun Thanks for starting an awesome thread!

Here are my top three (for right now):

  1. Bikepackrafting trip to the Great Kobuk Sand Dunes.
  2. Ski descent of Mt Adams (with the dream of skiing Rainier but knowing I have a ways to go before that happens).
  3. Taking my daughter (7) for her first backpacking trip, likely to Annette Lake and hopefully this summer.

How about everyone else?!?

Re: What adventures are on your outdoor bucket list?

@hikebikefun I once kayaked out to Smith Island in the Chesapeake and camped there for a week. It was a phenomenal experience living among locals and I would love to do that again. Aiming a little higher I would love to visit the Hadaii Gwaii..........

Re: What adventures are on your outdoor bucket list?

Great question!

In no particular order:

  • John Muir Trail
  • Colorado Trail
  • Week-long kayaking/camping tour in the Pacific Northwest
  • Loyalsock Trail (planning for next Summer)
  • Finally... get over my fear of snakes!

@Dad_Aint_Hip

These are great, definitely let me know how you accomplish that last one, you may have a best selling book there!

Pacific Northwest is beautiful! What great ideas.

Snakes! Reasonable fear! We have a healthy population of rattlers in Southwest Texas... I try to live with the mantra leave them alone and they will leave me alone! Oh and go around them with room to spare!!

Number one is the thru-hike of the AT.  Number two is to grab my goldwing and travel across Canada 😉

@Gary2

Thanks for sharing! It wasn't until I moved to Alaska that I fully grasped the scope of motorcycle touring. It looks really awesome! Not that you'd want to take your Goldwing up the Dalton highway (gravel and really rough) but it is definitely a compelling reason to think about learning to ride a motorcycle!
